a Wedged Bear in Great Tightness

Updated: Apr 30

MY KID LOVES BOOKS·FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020·2 MINUTE READ

These aren’t easy days are they? With schools, amusement parks and many other public places closed, we might be feeling Wedged in Great Tightness like poor old Bear.

Pooh had gone to visit Rabbit and whilst there had eaten up every last drop of honey in the house. When it was time to go home, Pooh tried to exit the way he’d come in, through the hole that was the entrance to Rabbit’s home.

Suddenly Pooh discovered that he couldn’t go forward and he couldn’t go backwards. There he was. Stuck in Rabbit’s front door. He was more than dismayed when Christopher Robin told him he would just have to wait until he grew thin again. Pooh shed a tear, then sensibly said to his friend, “Then would you read a Sustaining book, such as would help and comfort a Wedged Bear in Great Tightness?”

And thus Pooh Bear was able to begin his wait... he didn’t know how long it would take to grow thin again.... but he and his friends spent the time together with Christopher Robin reading aloud to them whilst he waited.
